What’s different about Doxie is probably the social media & current web apps integration. When we scan a photo, it will be able to straighten and trim as necessary, and ask for permission to put the photo into your iPhoto Library, Flickr, and other web apps. It works on both Windows and Mac (they recommend Snow Leopard OS). And it is USB-powered; meaning that it is created to be a portable scanner.
