Short and sweet. Very sweet, in fact. I will be away for a weekend retreat with my beloved friends to an area around the Mornington Peninsula. Among all the things that I planned to do there, one of the things that really got me excited is this:

A piece of creamy vanilla slice...

Yes. A piece of cake! Lol. Well, it’s not just any piece of cake, this is the famous “best vanilla slice ever” from Just Fine Food in Sorrento. And I’m serious, it is beautiful. Beautiful! It is so delicious that every single time I go for a visit, having one will never be enough – but having 2 just seems like an overkill!

I love cupcakes. When did I know that I love cupcakes? Not when I had one and then felt like another a week later. It was more when I had a couple and still wanted a couple more straight after – in London. Whilst searching for the best cupcakes around town for my sister’s wedding last September, we discovered plenty of sweetness – and boy, I never got sick of them!

Cupcake Bakery in Melbourne...

Coming back here, I satisfy my craving from Cupcake Bakery. With two stores in Melbourne CBD – Melbourne Central & Collins St – and a couple more in Sydney, Cupcake Bakery offers plenty of cuppy cake goodness.

My favourite? In this order: Red Velvet and Lemon Poppyseed. They are quite pricey (they all are!), but to me, it’s worth every bite. I want some, right now!!

Sweet. I’ll arrive in Malaysia early morning, so here’s a midnight blog update! :) To follow the past 2 blog entries on all things Malaysia, here’s another one. And I might be biased, but Malaysia is really all about food. Today, though, I’ll focus on something sugary sweet.

One of my friends is currently learning (and mastering, I should say) the art of cake decorating. She’s always been great at making and baking, so it’s great to see her prettifying her cakes. Recently, she mentioned a blog of another cake decorator who lives in Malaysia. The lady started small as well, but as of early June, she’s got herself a store in KL. Delectable: Designer cakes & more. Pretty name, it also means delicious.
