Ever wondered what Salvador Dali’s paintings would be like if they can move? Ever wondered what Dali’s thoughts were when creating his art? Well, wonder no more; here’s Destino…

Introducing Salvador Dali's art... in animation!

Introducing Salvador Dali's art... in animation!

This is old news for some, but I’ve just found the short animation video created in 1945 by Salvador Dali himself. It was a collaboration with another famous person: Walt Disney. I mean, if you were to think of someone to liven up your art into an animation, why wouldn’t you choose Disney? And here’s the video…

It’s amazing to see Dali’s art comes to life. It’s intriguing and bizarre, and in the midst of not truly understanding Dali’s mind, I understood a little.

Non-traditional & creative wedding proposals

I enjoyed doing the one-week fashion and style posts so much that I decided to do the same this week leading to my sister’s wedding on the 19th of September. So from today, you will find wedding-related posts that will surely inspire you, as it has inspired me! :) I love beautiful images, beautiful ideas, and beautiful inspirations! And weddings, being the most overrated event, definitely provide us with all these beautiful things aplenty!

But first off today, before the wedding planning and the big day, there is one small step to be taken by mankind – proposals. I don’t know about you, but I love a great wedding proposal ideas. Yes, the traditional down on one knee after a romantic dinner is sweet alright, but sometimes the creative ones are the ones that really grab people’s attention! Like these…

Using hundreds and hundreds (more than 550) still images, Kent Yunge decides to present his proposal through this beautiful stop motion video. She said yes.

The above is a clever idea. I don’t know how that guy made that girl stay throughout the entire magic show, but I guess the magician Dan Trommater was rather entertaining indeed! ;) Believable, and still creative!

Probably the best ever wedding proposal – if you don’t mind being embarrassed. This guy sure has got it all planned! Adorable, adorable. I mean, you’ve always imagined yourself in a Disney movie, being the princess who’d live happily ever after with her prince charming. But I’m sure no girl would dream to be proposed this way! Lol.

Last but not least, it’s not a real proposal. But still, a beautiful ad showing that there are so many different ways you can create a beautiful proposal. This is great, because this one doesn’t actually require other people to be in the picture. One man, one woman. That’s all you need! Sweeeeet…

Now that proposal’s done, expect many more wedding-related posts in the next few days! <3

Lilo & Stitch kawaii USB, TV, snowglobe, framed pix

So, we’ve had plenty of Disney posts so far, but do you know that my favourite Disney cartoon of all times was actually not a so-called fairytale? When Lilo & Stitch first came out, I watched it and fell in love with the characters, the plot, and the Elvis-inspired soundtrack. I’ve watched Lilo & Stitch more than 10x on DVD. So I think it’s safe to say that Lilo & Stitch is my favourite Disney animation so far.

As I was browsing today, I found some really interesting Lilo & Stitch (or just Stitch) merchandises that I would like to have, if it weren’t so expensive, or no longer available, or can only be found in Japan (and some other exclusive online sites)…

How cute is this Stitch USB Desktop Humidifier, created by a Japanese company called Run@ that seems to specialise on kawaii products. What it does is pretty simple: releases air through Stitch’s big open mouth to ensure that your office/room is not stuffy… or something like that. I don’t know who’d need it, but hey, it’s cute. So cute plus the ability to do something apart from just being cute equals a reason to buy useless cute stuff! Price tag’s about US$100 though.

Also from the same company is this 20” Stitch TV is sold in Japan only by the same company Run@, and is overpriced too. Sighs. I want one, as long as it works as an LCD screen. It has Stitch hanging on top (and you can even see it climbing from behind), with its teeth clutched although adjustable to reveal the TV controls. Cute.

Stitch, don't eat up the TV!

Some of you might know that I like snow globes. Not to the extend of going around the world collecting it, but in my last trip to Europe, I did buy one from each place I visit. There are a number of Lilo & Stitch snow globes available from the Disney store, but I’ve got my favourite. This one is of Stitch and Lilo’s doll Scrump. It plays “Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride” when wind-up (yes, what’s better than a snow globe? A musical snow globe!)…

Stitch & Scrump together, oh so cute!

There is a reason why I love Lilo & Stitch. As I said at the beginning, the plot and storyline tells of a tale deeper than just some prince charming sweeping you off your feet (although I like that idea a lot too). Lilo & Stitch is a story of ohana (“means family”) and friendship between two odd strangers. There’s a memorable scene in the movie that shares a story of Stitch feeling left out and alone, similar to the ugly duckling among the swans. I love that bit, and so of course, it is only natural that I find the “Stitch’s Storytime” Limited edition framed Pix-Cel rather precious…

It’s a sad thing that Lilo & Stitch doesn’t seem to generate as much hype as all the other Disney animated series…
