All focus on men this week! I had a conversation a while ago about the fact that men don’t wear boots, women do. But what we didn’t realise was that, technically speaking, boots were first created for men (I ain’t no historian, so do correct me if I’m wrong). So naturally, boots would look good on men.

When I saw these pair of Martin Margiela speed bike sneakers on Oki-Ni, the first thing I did was google to find images of people – whether it be catwalk models, celebrities, strangers on the streets, anybody – wearing a pair of these speed bike sneakers! But I couldn’t find one. So here are just photos of the shoes (in 3 different colours) which I think would look totally awesome on men…

Customised Converse Craze

I am a fan of Converse. A proud owner of about 5 (or a little bit more) different pairs of Converse sneakers. And I want more. One thing I’ve always wanted but never had the chance to, just because I don’t live in the “centre of the world” (ie. USA): a customised Converse.

Converse: Make it Yours. Custom made!

If you haven’t been to the Converse website, you should. You can customise and make your own Converse, choose your own colour and style, and even scribe your own ID/name on your favourite pair of sneakers. Awesome! Imagine the possibilities! And trust me, I know it because I often visit the site just to create a pair of Converse that I know I’ll never own. And since I want to show you the awesomeness of these customised sneakers, I’ve created yet another one based on my current like…

Oh yeah! See those colours? Funky! :) And they cost US$65, which is pretty much the same price as the usual pair. Imagine wearing one of your own custom-made Converse, walking around town feeling as if you’re the only one with that exact pair of shoes in the whole wide world. Mmmm…

The only sad thing remains: it can’t be shipped outside of the States. Oh well, it’s okay. It hasn’t stopped me from going to the site and trying out new colour combinations before. And I doubt it ever will.
