I was walking around Melbourne Central when I saw some rather cute sock dolls being sold in one of those stall shop. So of course, I took a name card and searched for its online presence.

Nothing Simple sells various things...

Nothing Simple sells a number of knick knacks, from jewellery to clothes, from music box to lens box (and a wide range of fashion contact lenses), from interesting home items to sock dolls. I found the sock dolls really adorable, although I wouldn’t know a use for it. But cute is cute, so cute must be posted:

I’m a Chadstone VIP Citizen. I wouldn’t say I shop at Chadstone that often, but it is one of those shopping centres I like to visit. Why? Maybe because they’ve got smart marketing and I am such an obedient consumer. They say “there’s a whole day sale in Chadstone on this date”, I say “Okay, I’ll go then”. Simple. Smart. And all those special invites are sent to your mailbox when you become Chadstone’s Very Important Citizen.

Another exciting thing about Chadstone is how huge it is, and that it continues to expand. In fact, tomorrow, they’ll open a new extension to the shopping mall, home to more than 50 fabulous stores. “On Wednesday August 19 the doors to the world-class mall will be opened, with many of our favourite brands coming back, bigger and better than ever! From new-look flagships to unique concept stores to awe-inspiring fit-outs be first on the scene to experience it for yourself”, says Chadstone.

Those are some little, literally, snapshots of the new mall and the new Sportsgirl store! Excited? Well, if you’re in Melbourne, Chadstone’s new mall extension will be revealed tomorrow – and I’m sure there are plenty of exclusive offers that you can find. I might visit when I return from my trip.

While browsing my job opportunities email, I found a great place selling great things. And you know how much I love great places that sell great things! And this time around, it’s just around the corner, ie. in Melbourne. Third Drawer Down is located on 93 George Street, Fitzroy and is a part of the Museum of Art Souvenirs. They stock unique products and artworks from Australian and international designers and have many limited edition items in their online shop.

Even though I have yet to visit the Third Drawer Down physical store myself, I have browsed enough to know that I’d like it. Here are some products that I really like (they are useable too), and you can click on each of them to buy straight from the website…

If you like what you see but aren’t keen to visit the shop just yet, come down to 500 Latrobe St this Sunday 19th July to visit This Is Not A Design Market, a design market held as part of State of Design’s Design for Everyone program. Third Drawer Down will be showcasing some of its products, and there are many other independent artists and designers with their own lines for you to purchase or look around!
